APPLICATION FOR THE EU-ASEAN YOUTH DIPLOMATS PROGRAMME

Participants must aged between 18 to 25 years by the time of the EU-ASEAN Summit.
Participants must be enrolled in a Malaysian higher education institution at the time of application, or to be enrolled upon commencement of the physical event.
Proof of student status or letter of acceptance from a Malaysian University will be required.
In addition to the application eligibility, participants must also be able to attend the three online sessions leading up to the EU-ASEAN Youth Summit and the summit itself. Participants will need to be willing to travel to the venue of the conference in Kuala Lumpur, from the 13th to 20th of February, 2023. Travel expenses will be subsidised by the organiser of the event.
As part of our application process, you are required to submit 3 documents. As this programme is expected to be highly competitive, we have curated our application process to chose the top 45 candidates.
Applicants would be required to submit an essay not exceeding 1,500 words on the topic of "How can EU and ASEAN member states collaborate to promote freedom of expression?". The essay must be concise and detailed with recommendation, complete with referencing and in-text citations.
Citation: You may choose between Harvard, APA 7th edition or MLA referencing styles.
Formatting: A4 page size, Arial font, size 11, and 1.15 spacing. The paragraphing format must be “justified”.
Document format: PDF formats are only accepted. Documents in any other formats will be rejected.
RESUME / CURRICULUM VITAE
All applicants are required to attach a resume or curriculum vitae of the applicant. Should you not have one, it is highly encouraged to create one for the purpose of the application to provide us with greater insight of yourself during the selection process.

Convey ideas comprehensively;
Provide in depth analysis of their topic of choice while offering valid justifications for their given stance;
Exercising good academic conduct and practices.
